The wait is over. This blog post is to unveil the name of the lucky winner for the free rapidshare premium account contest which was posted last week at Techolar.com. The contest was really fun and interesting.I believe that it helps in promotion and also creates a bond of trust and friendship between you and your readers.

Free Rapidshare Premium Contest

The contest started on 4th April 2009 and ended yesterday on 11th April 2009.The winner of the contest gets a 1 month rapidshare premium account.

Response to the Rapidshare Contest

Total 40 comments were posted and 33 entries were valid entries( who posted according to the contest rules ).Out of those 10 entries were from bloggers who linked to the contest.I got few spam comments too, which were deleted. Total 52 entries were received.

How the winner was selected ?

I got all names in an Microsoft excel file, All the bloggers who linked back were given 3 entries.In order to make it fair and completely random, i generated a random sequence from 1 to 52.Later the sequence was allotted to the entries.Now i went to random.org to generate a random integer between 1 and 52, the website returned 20 which is Joe Scie entry position.I am having few screenshots which i want to share with you guys :)

I heartily congratulate Joe Scie.(just sent an email to him/her). If he/she do not reply within 60 hours then I will randomly select another name which will earn the free rapidshare premium account.

Rapidshare is a big player in online free file sharing. Many prefer to host their files with rapidshare. They made rapidshare more friendly by removing annoying captcha system for non-paid users, increasing per day traffic limit for many countries, security lock to protect accounts etc. Rapidshare developed and API (Application programming interface) to help software developers to build applications based on Rapidshare. They say that it is in beta stage and will be released within few weeks.
